…and now for the feature presentation

You’ll have to excuse my prolonged absence from the interweb this last half of the winter. Something happens to me every single post winter solstice; my soul travels to the far reaches of space to recharge and leaves me here to watch an unhealthy amount of high quality tv series. I like to assume I have impeccable taste when it comes to television programming, we need to swap favourite characters and storylines! Now that I’m done astral projecting myself around the galaxy it’s time to get down to some serious... read more...

Where I Go To Live

After a few weeks of gorging and hibernating I’m ready to be a normal Natalie again and keep my day planner fully booked with fun hangouts with you and snowboarding. This next week is supposed to bring some much needed nature made powder to my second home this winter, Cypress Mountain. I still can’t believe how my life worked itself out to be living in the sweetest attic in Kits, three days off during the week and a seasons pass to my favorite local mountain. It’s like the Natalie’s Wish... read more...

Twenty Twelve

If you look at it long enough the ‘Tw’ in Twelve and Twenty look like they shouldn’t be there together. Today is the first day of the year and I’m sitting in my bed surrounded by soft friends and amazing light coming in through the skylights. This post I just wanted to recap and be thankful for the most amazing year I have ever had. I was actually kind of sad to see Twenty Eleven leave last night, and now there is this huge expectation to one up it this... read more...

Feather Cracks

After painfully removing her wetsuit and icing for hours we decided to get the hospital to look at it. They said it was broken and to get it looked at closer in Vancouver. At least... read more...

Wetsuit Malfunction

After Alejandro and Nathan’s recon mission of the Botanical Gardens we assumed it was safe for us to go in by day light. Chickens and turkeys were everywhere! Its a little weird looking at your Thanksgiving meal in the face. There was driftwood art all over the trails, it felt a little Lost-esque, like I was waiting for strange whispering to come out of the forest. In a little pond near the turkeys was a sign that said there was a crocodile in the water. We also saw a chicken... read more...

Beach Birthday

Those photos I posted earlier were actually of the day I’m writing about today. It was the windiest and wettest environment I ever let my camera be in. If you faced the rain it felt like sharp pins entering your face at 90 degrees. It was beautiful. I am the first person to claim that wind is the most annoying friend you could ever have, but maybe because we were in Tofino I was completely in love with it. I was also content with being completely soaked. Big thanks to... read more...
